Statement of Faith

We believe in one eternal God, Creator and Lord of the world: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
who governs all things according to the purposes of His will.

We believe in Jesus Christ the only Son of God, both as Saviour and Lord. He gave himself as
a sacrifice on the cross for all sinners. He was dead and buried, but rose from the dead. He
ascended into heaven.

We believe that all of humanity are lost in sin and are unable to see the Kingdom of God
without having experienced the new birth. New birth means that one is justified by grace
through faith in Christ alone. Through Christ on the cross and His resurrection all sinners
can become what they were made to be – a new creation in Christ.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. We believe that the work of the
Spirit seals our salvation and promotes our spiritual growth towards maturity and that of
the Church to constant renewal in truth, wisdom, holiness, love, power and mission.

We believe that the Bible is the only inspired, written word of God infallible and without
error, our guide for faith and life practice.

We believe in one holy, universal and Apostolic Church. The Body of Christ called to witness
and be a witness for Him who is our Head. We are called to preach the Gospel among all
nations and demonstrate our commitment by compassionately serving those who have

We believe that Jesus will return personally and visibly in power and glory to bring to a close
the fallen nature of this world and humanity, to restore and make new that what was lost at
the garden of Eden. God will fully manifest His Kingdom when He establishes the new
heaven and earth in which He will be glorified forever. Within the framework of the above,
we believe we are called to bring His good news to the nations, a responsibility to bring light
to the darkness.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for our salvation and rose from
the grave. That Jesus Christ demonstrated the greatest act of Love the universe has ever
known to save humanity from eternal death, and to restore His children back to their
original design – made in His image and likeness. This, in turn, calls us all to the new
commandment given to us by Jesus to love one another, and most of all to Love the Lord
your God with all of your being!

Our Methodology for mission

The Scriptural value, “the priesthood of all believers” under girds our ministry.  Both lay
people and pastors benefit from our applications. We endeavour to empower existing
churches by drawing alongside of them, equipping both members and leaders. We share
with them skills that enable them to plant new churches and sustain those ministries by
training others.

We believe that God is about equipping the called, not calling the equipped and it is within
our practice to begin training new Christians for service. (For example, a new convert will
share their faith with somebody within minutes of becoming a Christian themselves; a
person who has been learning a specific concept will be used to teach that concept at the
next event.)

We conduct a completely cross-denominational ministry. (The testimony of Pastors, in all
places that we work, is that it is the first time denominations have worked together in their
area). We aim not to divide but to unite the body of Christ to the benefit of the nations and
the Glory of the Lord.

It encompasses the imperatives of mission; evangelism, church growth, spirituality, justice,
service, human and economic development and empowerment (e.g. Basic health/hygiene/
HIV/Aids education, Clinics, farming methods, food for those who need it, spiritual teaching,
Bibles, clothing, sewing instruction, carpentry instruction, people on mission, Jesus film,
bore holes for water, education, preschool education, orphans and widows).

The overriding factor in the work we do is to bring the church back to the centre of society
and by doing so, put God into the centre of people’s lives.

South Africa a “Missional” Objective

On the home front, we have become aware that people in South African Churches, though
there are many discipleship programmes available, have a need to engage in practical
discipleship. As a response to this, we are in the process of developing a tool that can be
used to reorient Christians or Churches to be “Missional” in their objective.

The foundation of what we believe in this regard is that unless the Gospel runs through the
centre of any ministry being run by the church, it is reduced to purely a social action group
like Rotary. For it to be a valid Christian response to a social issue the Gospel must of
necessity be the preeminent orientation.

This entails a rethink on current practice where evangelism/mission/the Gospel has been
reduced to being one of many commissions/committees within churches fighting for its
place in the sun and restores it to a position where evangelism/mission/the Gospel is the
only core purpose within all things done by the church.

Thus, the objective of the church should be and is the same objective that God had in mind
when He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross: to reach others through Christ by the
Holy Spirit and restore their relationship with God. All else must serve that cause.
